2012 - MN of the Y

Steven Trimble is a native of Emporia, Kansas. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor's degree in History and did his graduate work at the University of Chicago with an emphasis on Urban History. He relocated to Minnesota in 1969 where he became a college instructor and freelance historian.

Mr. Trimble served in the Minnesota Legislature from 1987 – 2000 representing district 67B in Ramsey County which included the Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood which he so relishes.

He is a longtime educator, researcher and writer of local history.

Historic Photos of St. Paul

In addition to his books, he has written articles for The Saint Paul Almanac, Ramsey County Historical Society Magazine and has appeared on KTCA programming.

He, at present, is a member of the Ramsey County Historical Society and serves on the St. Paul Heritage Preservation Commission. He is the founder of the Minnesota Cookbook Archives located at Metropolitan State University.
